Rainbow Six Vegas Performance
I just got my hands on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. Quite a bit late, I am fully aware of that. If you're familiar with Ghost Recon for the PC you will find about the same game, but with more focus on in-door, close quarters combat - or just like S.W.A.T. if you'd prefer that. The game looks solid, not having any in-application control for Texture Filtering and AntiAliasing seems to be common for Unreal fueled games, so I maxed out what I found since CCC didn't seem to be able to force any filters with any visual impact. Highest (in-game) settings - Average 90FPS, jumping from 65-125FPS and even down to 25-30FPS in rare cases in-doors for no reason, but those periods lasts around 10 seconds after a Saving or when there's alot of acitivty going about (then we're talking the most massive such). Recording at average 40FPS, 32-40FPS. CPU was well utilized and GPU got quite a pressure on it. Overall the game feels very well optimized, but could use some sharper textures and probably some higher-quality models, but this game ain't top-notch anymore. Rig concludes: MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX/SB600 AMD Athlon X2 6000+ @ 3266mhz 2GB OCZ ATi Crossfire Certified RAM @ 850mhz, CL4. Sapphire HD 2900XT @ 772/859 Creative X-fi Xtreme Gamer (CMSS-3D, 100% Crystilizer) Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Western Digital Caviar 7200RPM, 16MB, 500GB. (SATA-2) Catalyst 8.2
